Pastor Carl was born in Chicago, Ill. and moved to Southern California when he was just 5 years old . As a freshman in high school, he attended a Christian summer camp and surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. He went on to graduate at California State University, Long Beach in 1987, majoring in economics and speech communications. He married his college sweetheart in 1989 and then went on to graduate from Multnomah Biblical Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree in 1994. In 2001, he and his wife, Maria, ventured out to start Ventura Community Church in 2001. Their greatest joy is sharing life with their five children and serving Jesus alongside friends.
